Manufacturing Engineer III

Job Description:The Manufacturing Engineer III serves as a senior technical leader responsible for driving complex process improvements, leading cross-functional initiatives, and supporting strategic manufacturing goals. This role applies advanced engineering expertise to optimize production systems, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. The position contributes to organizational success by mentoring junior engineers, leading high-impact projects, and ensuring alignment between engineering, operations, and quality teams. It plays a critical role in shaping the future of AAON's manufacturing capabilities.Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.Analyze complex production challenges and develop innovative solutions using data-driven methodologies.Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes into manufacturing.Oversee the design and optimization of production layouts, tooling, and workflows for maximum productivity and safety.Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.Manage large-scale projects, including capital equipment installations, process automation, and lean transformation initiatives.Evaluate and implement new technologies, materials, and methods to maintain a competitive edge in HVAC manufacturing.Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in engineering practices.Prepare and present technical reports, cost analyses, and project updates to leadership.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires a four-year ABET-accredited degree in engineering or an equivalent technical degree in applied sciences; 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within the HVAC or a similar industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Advanced certifications in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or project management preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Expert knowledge of manufacturing systems, process engineering, and production optimizationStrong leadership and project management skillsProficiency in interpreting complex technical drawings and specificationsAdvanced problem-solving and analytical capabilitiesExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsExperience with lean tools, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environmentEssential Mental and Physical Functions:This role requires strategic thinking, technical leadership, and the ability to manage both high-level planning and hands-on implementation.
