Scale House Attendant
Job description:OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Scale Operator to join our team at an active mining pit operation. The Scale Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate weight measurements for incoming and outgoing materials, directly supporting efficient site operations. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory systems, safety procedures, and the ability to operate equipment safely and effectively. Shift6:30 AM - 4:30 PM ResponsibilitiesAccurately weigh and record truckloads and materials using scale equipment. Maintain detailed weight and load records in Excel and/or warehouse management systems (WMS). Ensure full compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety policies during all operations. Support accurate inventory tracking using MRP systems and AS400. Assist with coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and verifying load data. Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on weighing equipment to ensure performance. Report discrepancies in weights, inventory, or documentation to site management promptly. Collaborate closely with site personnel to ensure efficient material handling and logistics. Skills & QualificationsPrior experience working in a mining, construction, or industrial environment is highly desirable. MSHA training or certification is preferred. Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with WMS or MRP systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment with shifting priorities. Previous experience in scale operations or inventory control is a plus.
