Machine Operator

Equipment Operator *Job Title:* Equipment Operator *Reports To:* Owner / Superintendent / Foreman *Employment Type:* Full-Time Position Summary We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Equipment Operator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will safely operate heavy equipment while assisting with all aspects of construction projects. As a small company, we value employees who are willing to work as a team, take pride in their work, and help wherever needed to keep projects moving efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Safely operate heavy equipment including: * Excavators * Dozers * Skid steers * Loaders * Motor graders * Rollers/Compactors * Backhoes (as needed) * Perform excavation, grading, trenching, site preparation, and material handling. * Read and understand grade stakes, project plans, and work instructions. * Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections. * Perform routine maintenance including fueling, greasing, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues. * Work alongside labor crews when equipment is not in use. * Load and unload equipment safely. * Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. * Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and customers. * Complete assigned work accurately and efficiently while meeting project schedules. Qualifications * Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred. * Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred but not required). * Ability to safely operate multiple types of construction equipment. * Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. * Ability to read grade stakes and follow site plans is preferred. * Strong work ethic with a positive attitude. * Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated. * Willingness to work overtime when project schedules require. Physical Requirements * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Ability to climb on and off equipment multiple times throughout the day. * Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and dust. * Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor as needed. * Ability to work long hours during peak construction seasons.
