Principal Systems Administrator

Job Summary: The Principal Systems Administrator is responsible for the implementation, management, health, and security of IT Infrastructure systems. Provides technical leadership and guidance to resolve complex server, security, and network issues. Develops and oversees backup, cloud, security, and business continuity strategies. Directs the planning and execution of key infrastructure projects, including email migrations, network modernization, and wireless deployments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices. Duties: Systems Administration Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of infrastructure systems Monitor and maintain the health of networking components, Microsoft 365, Google GSuite, Azure and on-premise servers, and security services Create efficiencies through scripting and automation Manage server patching processes and backup file recovery tests Organizes and documents system information in a consistent manner including network elements, data backup systems, Microsoft 365 and Google GSuite configurations, remote access, and security certificates Business Continuity Management Document recovery strategies and recovery times Test recovery procedures and execute recovery of systems as needed Provide protections against ransomware and other threats with techniques such as immutable storage and backup of critical configurations IT Governance Maintain compliance with ISO 27001 controls, standards, and procedures Oversee hardware and software distribution and management Vendor Management and Quarterly review systems Security & Vulnerability Management Remediate system vulnerabilities Lead and Investigate Security Incidents Provide threat intelligence to leadership team Enforce Security Best and Leading practices such as MFA & least privileged access across clients Engineers and Implements Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Intellectual Property (IP) projection with Microsoft’s toolset of Purview and Varonis Provide data governance, security, and compliance for organizations and help manage and protect their data across various environments Document and log Incident and remediation efforts for resolution Provide and manage endpoint security systems Ensures procedures and systems are in place for vulnerability patching and software updates. Project and Service Delivery Oversees projects such as network upgrades, e-mail migrations, wireless system implementations, and firewall upgrades. Structures work for others to execute project tasks Responsible for the implementation of cybersecurity strategies and maintaining ISO27001 compliance. System Design Designs server solutions that meet customer requirements Provides time estimates for projects Incorporates performance, security, recoverability, and recoverability in all solutions Key Competencies Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CEH Experience in the IoT industry Experience working within cloud security Experience working within AI security Cybersecurity or Information Systems Certification (Security+, CISM, CISSP, etc.) Sentinel One WatchGuard and Sonicwall Microsoft Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Micrsoft Purview Mosyle / Intune Microsoft Entra / 365 Powershell / scripting High level of initiative Excellent communication skills Ability to facilitate meetings with clients and stakeholders Methodical troubleshooting skills Customer-centric approach Bachelor’s degree preferred Purview Google GSuite Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
