Blockchain Data Engineer (AWS Python)

Position: Blockchain Data Engineer (AWS Python)Location: Candidates preferred from the Boston, MA area (priority), with Merrimack, NH, and Westlake, TX as secondary options. Must be available for 2 weeks onsite monthly no exceptions. This role involves leading a team in blockchain, database, and ETL development, testing, and code deployment. The ideal candidate will be eager to improve data quality and embody sound engineering principles.The Expertise You Have:B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experienceSubstantial knowledge of blockchain and crypto-based analytics, ideally in a financial services environment7+ years of recent experience with relational database technology, data engineering, and ETL/ELT skills7+ years of professional experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, or other blockchain platformsStrong understanding of cryptographic principles and blockchain protocolsWorking experience with Linux shell scripts and job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M/Autosys)Ability to develop Data APIs for varied application requirementsExperience with AWS services, Snowflake, and PythonExposure to GitHub and Jenkins is desirableKnowledge of finance and investing domains is a plusThe Skills You Bring:Experience in crafting and supporting distributed blockchain-based enterprise solutions for financial/banking/asset management, with an understanding of smart contracts for Ethereum-based applications (e.g., ERC20, ERC721, ERC1400)Familiarity with diverse blockchain and distributed ledger implementations (e.g., Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Polygon, Solana, Stellar)Expertise in SQL and identifying patterns in blockchain data, with mastery in implementing data quality checksExperience using data from blockchain vendors to generate insights and analyticsExperience working with Agile teams and a solid understanding of Agile principlesThe Value You Deliver:Collaborate with analysts/business partners to understand business problemsDesign, develop, and support quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and best practicesActively participate in activities like innovation days, code reviews, and exploring emerging technologiesDynamic Working: We aim to balance remote work with in-person collaboration, offering a mix of offsite and office work to support your role, experience level, and working style.
