Yard Supervisor

Responsibilities:
Supervise all hourly employees in the yard crew
Recommend to Production Superintendent and equipment, personnel and/or safety issues
Investigate and report all accidents involving employees and equipment. Promotes safe working and good housekeeping habits.
Maintains current knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and company policies. Seek to promote an attitude of cost and profit consciousness to fellow employees
Oversees all equipment and personnel used in the maintenance of the grounds in and around the production areas.
Responsibility for all areas dictated by superintendent and management
Directs removal of process spills and leaks and upkeep of buildings, grounds and all plant property
Directs maintenance of streets inside the plant,
Responsible for the care and maintenance of all small mobile equipment to include bobcats, sweepers, pick-up trucks, including hand tools used in housekeeping of the plant.
Make daily operating decisions regarding scheduling overtime, write work requests and work orders and report maintenance issues to the maintenance department
Support production operations with yard personnel as necessary
Conduct close supervision, progress and training of all new employees
Continue self-improvement activities in ground maintenance and supervision of hourly employees
Any other activities requested by the production superintendent and management that is consistent with this job classification and not included above.
Qualifications:
Minimum of GED/High School Diploma
Minimum of two years working in a cement manufacturing environment preferred.
Good communication and language skills
Documented experience in organization, human relations and decision making skills.
Proficient in computer usage, Office, Outlook, Kronos, Oracle
