The RN Clinical Expanded Role provides clinical expertise, consultation, education, and research to their designated area, acting as a change agent by accepting and facilitating change. Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm/liliUnit/Location: Home location- Riverton Oncology. This position will float to all 4 locations: Riverton Hospital, LDS Hospital, Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center./liliPreferred Qualifications: Oncology experience preferred, chemotherapy knowledge preferred, BSN preferred, high level triage experience highly preferred./liliAdditional Details: This RN will be on standby shifts and be assigned to a Medical Oncology clinic for chosen days of the week. They will be guaranteed the 36 hours per week but may not know where they work until the day of their shift. There will likely be set days at certain locations 1-2 days per week. Clinics that this role will support are the outpatient Medical Oncology clinics at Riverton Hospital, Alta View Hospital, LDS Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center./li/ulpEssential Functions/pulliProvides expertise in specialty areas; participates in clinical programs and policy development; supports standardization of care protocols./liliEducate and mentor nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on best practices and new developments in the specialty area. Registered Nurses (RNs) hired or promoted into this role must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of their hire or promotion date. If there is an existing education agreement, that agreement will take precedence./liliBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers/liliUnit specific certification as required (i.e., ACLS, PALS, etc.).(Applicants must either have required additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a specified timeframe determined by service line and department guidelines.)/liliOne year of clinical nursing experience./liliDemonstrated experience in assigned clinical area./liliDemonstrated ability to mentor and guide nursing staff./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications/pulliBachelors degree in nursing (BSN). This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
