Electrical Engineer (MEP)

Job DescriptionTitle of Position:Electrical EngineerQualifications:Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university (Preferred)Experience:2-5 years minimum or related experienceResponsibilitiesAdhere to Sutton Engineering, LLC core values and standardsDesign Electrical systems for diverse markets (mission critical, communications, commercial, government, etc.). Acts as Project Engineer on projects and is able to perform complete electrical systems design according to code. Coordinates design with other internal and external disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, and equipment suppliers. Conducts periodic job site observations and develops reports of findings. Consults on areas such as preparation of existing facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports. Designs electrical distribution systems, lighting contorls with minimal direction from Director. Interacts with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors. Participates in project and client meetings when requested. Prepares electrical load calculations. Prepares and issue addendum information. Produces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards. Provides mentorship for the other designers/engineers in the team. Recognizes potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager and Director. Researches design options and document findings. Reviews all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check. Takes responsible charge for the project for his/her discipline. Travels to project site and meetings as needed. Skills And ExperiencesA demonstrated aptitude for managing project workload. Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups. Ability to think ahead - determining what information will be needed and when. Competency of the technical aspects of one’s discipline. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM. QualificationsDetailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently. Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.). Experience executing work in 3D model environments. Professional Engineering license is a plus. Strong experience with engineering software packages: Revit, CAD, etc. .
