The Vice President of Development will play a pivotal role in the organization's mission, serving as a key partner to the CEO in shaping the future of the organization. This is a hands-on leadership position, requiring a strategic and proactive approach to fundraising, with a focus on program growth, geographic expansion, and long-term philanthropic strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of fundraising activities, from developing and executing comprehensive strategies to personally managing a major donor portfolio. They will also be instrumental in leading the team, establishing and maintaining accountability structures, and ensuring the organization's development systems and operations are robust and effective. Applicants for the Vice President of Development role at the company should have a proven track record in nonprofit development, with at least 7-10 years' of experience and a strong background in team management. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree and fundraising certifications being preferred. The ideal candidate will have a metrics-driven approach, experience in capital campaign management, and a deep understanding of the full fundraising ecosystem. They must be adept at building and using KPI dashboards, and have proficiency in donor CRM platforms. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse audiences are essential, as is a genuine alignment with the organization's values and mission.
