Yard Driver (31048)

HOURS: Wednesday - Saturday 3:45am to 4pmResponsible for the positioning of trailers at the distribution center docks and shuttling loaded trailers to a designated location for pick up by OTR drivers.Safely and efficiently operate a yard tractor to maneuver empty and loaded trailers about the distribution center yard.Accurately follow radioed instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location.Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment.Report trailer damage or broken equipment.Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.Clean and tidy the yard truck and work area.Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.Must read and write in English. Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas. Must have a valid Driver's License, a CDL may be required at certain terminals.Ability to safely and accurately work under tight time constraintsAbility to communicate clearly and understand instructions received via two-way radio.Strong commitment to safety, team work and customer service.
