Research Associate
Position Overview: The team is seeking a dedicated Research Associate with experience in microbiology assays as part of the team’s ongoing development of a cell-based diagnostics platform. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate on multiple projects and maintain expertise in microorganism culture, microorganism diagnostics, and biofluid processing Process contrived and human samples in support of performance characterization of a microorganism diagnostic device Interpret, analyze, present, and properly record data in an ELN. Support general lab upkeep (lab inventory, ordering, lab safety, etc.) Prepare documents and presentations for status reports on project progression, emerging technologies, and intellectual property development Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate assay workflows into a diagnostic platform Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (2+ years of industry experience) or Master’s degree (0+ years of industry experience) in microbiology, cell biology, biology, bioengineering, or a related field. Hands on experience with microorganism culture, blood culture (including downstream assays with blood culture), and human biofluid handling. Experience working on developing diagnostic platforms and technologies, particularly related to microbiology is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent data analysis skills using tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, or Minitab. Additional experience with microfluidics or optical imaging systems is a plus.
