Quality Control Technician
Job title: QC Technician I Location: Clayton NC Duration: 12+ Months Contract Pay Rate: 30.00/hr. On w2Role OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented QC Technician I to join our Quality Control team in Clayton, NC. In this role, you will perform and review analysis of in-process, release, and stability samples for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and filled products. You will play a critical role in ensuring all laboratory data is scientifically sound and compliant with cGMP, site, and corporate policies.Key ResponsibilitiesMicrobiological Support: Prepare microbiological media and perform washing and sterilization of equipment and media using autoclaves.Testing & Analysis: Conduct bioburden testing of utilities samples via membrane filtration and perform routine analysis of samples to support deviations and investigations.Environmental Monitoring: Read and interpret environmental monitoring (EM) samples to ensure facility compliance.Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities maintain strict adherence to cGMP, safety, and environmental requirements.Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure the timeliness of lab results; assist in authoring scientific or technical reports as needed.Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain testing proficiency and perform basic troubleshooting for laboratory equipment.Physical RequirementsAbility to move equipment or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds.Must be able to perform close precision work with hands.Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting/standing) for 50% of the shift.Occasional use of ladders and working at elevated heights.Comfortable working around odorous or hazardous materials in a laboratory setting.QualificationsEducation: Associate’s degree in a scientific field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.Experience: 1 year of experience in a clinical, industrial, or pharmaceutical laboratory is highly preferred.Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cGMP standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Specialized Skills: Knowledge in any of the following is a significant plus:Microbiology: Sterility testing, Bacterial Endotoxin testing (LAL), Growth Promotion, or Microbial Identification.Chemistry/Raw Materials: HPLC, UPLC, pH, KF, FTIR, or Titration.Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
