Roles & Responsibilities
The SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing SAP MDG solutions across master data domains such as Materials, Vendors, Customers, Finance, and Custom Objects. This role ensures high-quality, standardized, and compliant master data processes across the organization, driving data governance strategy, solution architecture, and delivery oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture
Lead end-to-end SAP MDG solution design for data domains (Material, Business Partner, Finance, etc.).
Define governance models, workflow designs, business rules, derivations, validations, and replication mechanisms.
Work closely with enterprise architects to align MDG solutions with SAP S/4HANA and overall data strategy.
Implementation & Delivery
Lead MDG implementation projects including blueprinting, configuration, enhancement, and testing.
Configure Data Models, UI Modelling (FPM/Fiori), BRF+, Rule-Based Workflows, and Data Replication (SOA/IDoc).
Coordinate with ABAP teams on custom enhancements, BAdIs, validations, and data quality rules.
Data Governance & Quality
Establish and enforce master data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
Support data quality monitoring, issue resolution, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
Partner with business teams to ensure adoption of governance processes.
Stakeholder & Project Management
Act as primary point of contact for MDG initiatives and business stakeholders.
Drive workshops, requirement gathering, sprint planning, and cutover activities.
Prepare project documentation, design specs, test scripts, and training materials.
Integration & Collaboration
Manage integration between MDG, S/4HANA, ECC, non-SAP systems, GDS, and middleware (PI/PO/CPI).
Collaborate with Data Migration teams using BODS/LSMW/SAP Migration Cockpit.
Support cross-functional master data initiatives across SCM, Finance, Sales, and Manufacturing.
Generic Managerial Skills, If any
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Leadership experience with onsite/offshore teams.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Base Salary Range : $160,000 to $1750,000 Per Annum
