Food Truck Worker - Weekends and school holidays thru Mid December

This is not your typical kitchen job. You will cook, serve and interact with customers in teams of 2 or 3 at a time. This is a food truck stationed within The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring (TheAdventurePark.com). We are a happy company serving happy and hungry climbers. Free climbing in your off time! Customers order on a kiosk, you prep, cook and serve the items. You will be part chef, part server, part customer service. You will need to have a friendly and happy disposition. No grumpy kitchen workers allowed! You will almost always have an assistant cook working with you. This job is seasonal- We will close for the winter in December and re-open again in March. Many of our workers return year after year. Great job for teachers or college students! The Location: The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring is located on the 140-acre wooded campus of the Sandy Spring Friends School, located in Montgomery County, 7 minutes off Georgia Avenue and the ICC (MD-200). 15 minutes north of Wheaton 20 minutes south of Columbia 25 minutes east of Rockville Kitchen Experience: 2-4 years (Preferred but not necessary) Certificate: Servsafe/Food Manager (Preferred) Work Authorization: United States (Required)Salary: $16-20/hour (plus tips) (*tips average $2-8/hr *depending on how busy the park is) Must: Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays—this is mostly a weekend job, but we are open late on Fridays and Saturdays. Availability on school holidays is a big plus. We are open 7 days/week in the summer, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday plus school holidays this Fall. RESPONSIBILITIES Learns and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, menu spec, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Handles, stores and rotates all products properly. Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, hot hold well, flat top grill, Turbochef ovens, refrigeration and freezer equipment. Assists others in opening/closing the kitchen/truck. Prepare quality pizzas, burgers, fries, etc. consistently, quickly, and accurately Effectively handle guest complaints or issues Monitor stock and notify manager when there are shortages All staff are cross-trained to cook and work the counter, and all shifts require cleaning, dishwashing, and prep. Performs additional responsibilities as requested Hours of operation: The Adventure Park is a seasonal outdoor recreation facility operating from mid March through mid December. During the Spring and Fall, the Park is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and most holidays. During the Summer, the Park is open 7 days a week. The food truck generally opens between 11am and 7pm on weekdays and 11am to 9 or 10pm on weekends. Depending on the Park’s daily schedule other hours outside of normal operating hours may be required for deep cleaning or other operational needs. An Equal Opportunity Employer.
