Substitute - Special Education Paraprofessional

Special Education AideUnder the direction of the Principal, Director of Special Education, or Coordinator for Special Education, assist the assigned certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students with moderate to severe special education learning needs in a special education or general education classroom environments; support collection of student data and in the preparation and implementation of behavioral and instructional materials; ensure successful achievement of accommodations, modifications, and measures to "remove barriers to learning" through the Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plan; perform a variety of routine clerical duties.Requirements / QualificationsNCLB Compliance (Verification of Associate's Degree, OR transcripts showing completion of 48 semester units, OR copy of NCLB compliancy certificate.)Comments and Other InformationSubstitutes are considered on-call/as needed and will be contacted by our Special Services department if on-boarded. All classified substitutes shall be paid at step 1 or A1 as indicated on the salary schedule for the assignment they are subbing in. Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and/or FBI, online trainings and proof of being cleared of Tuberculosis and online trainings are required prior to starting employment.
