Warehouse - Lead (Continental A Shift, 7am - 7pm)
POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Lead is responsible for the daily leadership and coordination of all shop-floor functions and activities with their shift, helping to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the department and to foster and support a positive work environment.POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:Forklift Operation & On-Floor SupervisionDistributing product, raw materials and scrap within Molding, Printing and Warehouse departmentsAssist with order picking and staging areas - goal is to ensure as many loads as possible are picked and loadedUsing RF scanner to record movement of productLoading and unloading of product onto trailersReconcile and investigate scanning errors when possiblePlant & Equipment SafetyEnsures all team members are trained and performing in a safe and efficient mannerBe involved in the accident/incident program; determine root causes, corrective actions and following-up to ensure completionCorrect unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring health and safety policies are followedPerform daily unplanned inspections. Ensure that inspection is appropriately documentedAdministrationPreparation of all shipping documentationEnsure proper manpower staffing allocationEnsure production quality meets customer standardsPlanning and loading of trailers for city deliveries and inter-warehouse transfersAdvise truck drivers as to shipping directionTransferring Resin from RailcarReceiving resin deliveries and ensuring the proper hook up and use of the silo system (required to stoop or lift up the 40lbs)Obtaining samples from each bunk (4 in each railcar) and sending to Quality Department for analysisDirect Reports on Shift Include: Forklift Operators and Company Truck DriversSKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Educational Requirements: High School Diploma, post-secondary education preferredMinimum Experience/Field: Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a supervisory capacityLicenses/Permits Required: Valid Forklift license, a counterbalance and reach truckCommunication Skills: must have good command of the English language both verbal and writtenAdditional Education/Experience/Skills: Previous experience in a lean manufacturing environment and previous experience with 5S, Six sigma and TPS, preferred, Knowledge of HACCP and WHMISCORE COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION: Ability to anticipate and handle challenging situations effectively, seeking input and involving others when possibleConsistently uses good judgement while decision making, analyses problems from different angles to seek alternatives before determining best solutionsDemonstrates a strong sense of urgency, assuming responsibility without being asked in order to achieve resultsAbility to prioritize tasks and support multiple departmentsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionPolytainers is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
