Patient Care Technician

Duration: Contract AssignmentSchedule: On-site | Shift varies (Days/Evenings/Nights/Weekends)Position OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering safe and efficient patient care during a temporary contract assignment. The PCT assists with daily patient needs, monitors patient status, and helps maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient CareAssist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and ambulationObtain and record vital signs (BP, pulse, respirations, temperature, SpO₂, intake/output, weight)Perform blood glucose monitoring and report abnormal resultsAssist with patient transfers, turning, and positioning using proper body mechanicsImplement fall precautions and safety measuresRespond to call lights and patient requests promptlyClinical SupportPerform EKGs and collect non-blood specimensAssist nurses with bedside procedures and treatmentsPrepare and stock patient rooms and suppliesTransport patients to diagnostic testing or proceduresClean and disinfect equipment according to infection control standardsDocumentation & CommunicationDocument patient observations in EMR accuratelyReport changes in patient condition to nursing staff immediatelyParticipate in shift handoff communicationMaintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentialityRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDPCT certification or CNA certificationMinimum 1–2 years of patient care experienceCurrent BLS (AHA) certificationAbility to safely assist and move patients (up to 50 lbs with assistance)Basic computer and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsHospital or acute care experiencePhlebotomy or EKG experienceFamiliarity with telemetry or med-surg unitsCore CompetenciesCompassionate patient careReliability and punctualityStrong communication skillsAbility to multitask in fast-paced environmentsTeam collaborationPride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, and home insurance, and employee discounts.
