Design Engineer (Dearborn)

• Underbody parts design• Experience with manufacturing processes stamping welding• Knowledge of cost breakdown and should-cost analysis.Key Responsibilities:• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.• 5+ years of experience in automotive product development or VAVE/cost engineering.• Strong understanding of automotive systems: Underbody and exhaust parts. Excellent knowledh of sheet metal part design• Experience with manufacturing processes (Stamping , welding, part assembly).• Knowledge of cost breakdown and should-cost analysis.• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) and PLM systems.• Preferred Qualifications• Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.• Familiarity with Ford systems and processes (GPDS, WERS, AIMS).• Strong supplier collaboration and negotiation skills.• Experience in teardown benchmarking and cost workshops.• Analytical thinking and problem-solving• Cost optimization mindset• Cross-functional collaboration• Communication and stakeholder management
