Chemical/Pest Spray Technician (turf experience needed)
Chemical ApplicatorChemical applicators are responsible for ensuring safe and timely applications of chemicals within the limits of laws and labels and with the interest of safety in our environment. With a minimum of 2 years turf experience. Be courteous and responsive to clients and their requests.
Minimum qualifications include: experience, language skills, math skills, legal authorization to work in the United States, certification as a Chemical Applicator by the Pest Management Division of the Arizona Department of Agriculture, preferred certification categories, Arizona Driver's License, acceptable MVR, and passing the AAA LANDSCAPE driving test. Ability to work effectively and efficiently without supervision, understand and follow oral instructions, arrive on time, work an 8-hour day, work flexible hours including overtime as necessary, attend occasional continuing educational courses, assist in other departments in times of need, and include occasional non-application fieldwork.
Responsibilities include: demonstrating behavior in accordance with the AAA LANDSCAPE mission statement, demonstrating a positive attitude, compliance with the company uniform policy, working well independently, communicating effectively with supervisors and managers, compliance with all requirements for the use of personal safety equipment, maintaining required records, accurately identifying common desert plants, identifying turf diseases, fungi & insect issues, comprehensive knowledge of up-to-date chemical variations and their uses, accurately calibrating application equipment, properly measuring and applying chemicals and fertilizers, performing minor repairs on application equipment, inspecting crews' chemical supplies inventories, cleaning vehicle & equipment on a routine basis, and applying fertilizers and insecticides to turf and ornamental plants according to schedule, safety procedures, and label instructions.
