The Packaging Engineer reports directly to Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Americas, and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.What You'll DoDesign, develop, implement and optimize end-to-end packaging solutions (including printing and labeling) for the entire BELIMO Group, considering legal and internal requirements in collaboration with relevant departmentsLead, coordinate, and implement cross functional and cross site packaging development projects, considering product specific and supply-chain-specific global, and local requirements functional and cross site packaging development projects, considering product specific‑functional and cross‑site packaging development projects, considering product‑specificElicit, write and manage packaging requirements and specifications leveraging existing specificationsCreate technical drawings and documentation for labelling and packaging including palletizationCreate and validate concepts and prototypes for packaging and labellingCreate and manage packaging and labelling data in CAD / PLM / ERP throughout the product lifecycleEnsure compliance with global and regional packaging regulations and standardsEnsure the verification of packaging solutions against requirements and standards in collaboration with lead verification, product engineers, compliance engineers and external service providersValidate packaging solutions with relevant stakeholders throughout the entire supply chain, covering production handling, transport safety, storage, and customer specific deliveryResearch and evaluate packaging materials, technologies, manufacturing processes, and industry trendsAssess and optimize cost, performance and sustainability of packaging solutions and labelling materialsDrive the resolution of quality issues related to packaging design, represents packaging engineering in quality casesProvide packaging expertise and technical support to other departments (e.g. procurement, innovation) and suppliersContribute to the formulation of packaging strategies and make suggestions for global packaging solution range (improvements and complexity reductions)Who You AreTechnical degree BSc or MScEducation in packaging engineering / packaging technologyMethodological knowledge in packaging & labelling development and lifecycle managementIn-depth methodological knowledge of packaging engineering for corrugated cardboardKnowledge of the device producing industry (e.g. household and electronic appliances, HVAC field devices, automotive components)At least 3 - 5 years of experience in packaging development / lifecycle management.At least 2 years of experience in leading projects for packaging development and interdisciplinary work with product developerWho We AreBelimo is the global market leader in the development, production, and marketing of field devices for the energy-efficient control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 - $115,000 annually with a target performance bonus of 15% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience.
