Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher is needed to support students at an elementary school setting in New Britain, CT. This contract role is expected to start as soon as possible and run through March, with a strong possibility of extension until the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with diverse learning abilities.
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a supportive learning environment.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and related documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification.
Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage classroom behavior and create an inclusive learning environment.
