The Director will oversee the clinical operations of the Occupational Therapy Department while also providing direct patient care. This leadership role is responsible for staff supervision, competency development, policy oversight, compliance, and program development to ensure high-quality rehabilitation services.Key Responsibilities:Provide clinical oversight and leadership for the Occupational Therapy DepartmentSupervise Occupational Therapy staff, including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation TechniciansCoordinate clinical education, training, and competency evaluationsEnsure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standardsOversee Occupational Therapy policies and procedures related to patient care, evaluations, treatment planning, discharge planning, and documentationEvaluate and treat patients approximately 80% of the timeAssist with program development, department operations, and administrative tasks approximately 20% of the timeCollaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient outcomesFunction in accordance with California State Practice Act standardsRequirements:Active Occupational Therapy license in the State of CaliforniaLeadership or supervisory experience in Occupational Therapy preferredStrong clinical, organizational, and communication skillsExperience with rehabilitation program development and staff managementAbility to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
