Position Type: Student Support Services Date Posted: 5/29/2026 Location: Student Support Services LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, invites energetic, collaborative, and student-centered candidates to apply for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opening at the Ocean Avenue LEARNing Academy in New London, Connecticut. The LPN will support students with complex medical and developmental needs in a school setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the LPN will provide direct daily care, assist with treatments, and help ensure the overall health and safety of students throughout the school day. Day to Day Provide direct nursing care to students under the supervision and direction of the school's RN. Administer prescribed medications, tube feedings, and treatments as outlined in individualized health care plans (IHCPs). Monitor student health status and promptly report changes to the supervising RN. Respond to health emergencies and provide first aid as needed. Assist with maintaining health records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations. Support students with activities of daily living (ADLs) as required. Collaborate with school staff, families, and the supervising RN to promote student well-being. Qualifications Current Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Pediatric, school, or special needs nursing experience preferred. Ability to follow nursing care plans and communicate effectively with the supervising RN. CPR (required; training provided if needed). Compassion, patience, and a team-oriented mindset. Salary Range $25.26 to $45.27 hourly.
