Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-grade data integration solutions that support analytics, reporting, and customer-facing data products. This is a critical role for a technical leader who can make sound architectural decisions, optimize performance, and collaborate across engineering, analytics, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Architecture
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines using distributed data processing frameworks and cloud analytics platforms.
Architect complex data ingestion, transformation, and integration workflows to support analytics and reporting needs.
Lead data modeling and data architecture decisions to ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability.
Database & Performance Optimization
Provide deep expertise in SQL Server or equivalent relational databases, including query optimization and performance tuning.
Optimize, automate, and monitor production data pipelines to ensure high availability and data integrity.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Collaborate closely with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Mentor team members and contribute to shared engineering standards, best practices, and documentation.
Support a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and process improvement within the data engineering team.

Performance in this role will be measured by:
Data Reliability: Stability and accuracy of production data pipelines
Performance: Efficiency and optimization of data processing and query performance
Delivery: Timely completion of data engineering initiatives and enhancements

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Extensive experience working with SQL Server or similar relational database platforms
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
Cloud Data Platforms: Experience building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines
Collaboration & Leadership: Strong communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Location: Hybrid role based in Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Full-time; in-office a minimum of three days per week (four days preferred)
