Progressive & Transferring Press Operator
We are seeking a skilled Progressive & Transferring Press Operator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating various types of manufacturing machinery. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints accurately, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining press machinery, ensuring high-quality production standards while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience:
Progressive Stamping Press : 1 year (Required)
Transferring Stamping Press : 1 year (Required)
Coiled steel: 1 year (Preferred)
Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma preferred AND;
6 months of job-specific and related experience (manufacturing) OR;
1 year of job-specific and related experience (manufacturing)
Must possess demonstrated physical capability; ability to work safely as a team, contribute to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale efforts. Troubleshooting and machine related skills preferred.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
Check and Sign Daily Paperwork
Safely Operate the Progressive and/or Transferring Stamping Press lines.
Monitor quantity and quality of parts
Control the location of stamped products
Control empty totes and skids: bring totes to the line as needed and return to proper storage areas after use
Observe all safety rules and regulations
Monitor stamping equipment
Safely load steel coils onto stamping lines, level, thread, and align steel properly
Start steel strip in dies at the proper location to avoid damage to tools
Unload and set dies properly into presses
Set and adjust shut height to achieve a quality part
Safely feed strip through die during load and tail out process, properly dispose of scrap both coil tails and parts
Ensure bolster, press ram, die set parallels upper and lower are free of debris and slugs to eliminate damage to dies and press
Utilize plex to create tags, document quality checks, to ensure proper inventory control
Conduct documented quality checks as defined and continually monitor stampings using defined in process checks
Emergency repair of Stamping Dies and Assembly Dies
Complete Stamping and Fixture related service requests
5S Activity is accomplished in a timely manner
Capable of running tow motors and cranes after training by IBT approved trainer
Overtime as required due to business unit needs
Training needs are based on IB Tech’s training matrix for this position, relevant to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Associate must be able to occasionally lift up to 40lbs in single or multiple lifts. Associate must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 100lbs. Associate will frequently bend, twist, turn, squat kneel, overhead reach, climb stairs, and pinch grip small objects for up to 7 hours per day. Typical work environment includes standing and walking in a manufacturing setting for a min. of 8 hours per day.
