Grounds Maintenance Summer InternshipWe are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented individual interested in developing the skills needed to become an Assistant Superintendent. The selected intern(s) will work alongside the agronomy team and gain exposure to all aspects of golf course maintenance and operations.Compensation & Benefits$20/hour + guaranteed overtimeFree Off-site housing providedMealsUniformsGolf/Fishing privilegesTeam activities outside of work (golf, sporting events, etc.)Key Learning Areas & ResponsibilitiesMoisture management on bentgrass and bermudagrass playing surfacesWarm-season cultural practices during our July closure weekOperation of Hydronics and SubAir technology on bentgrass greensTournament PreparationAssisting with creating and implementing golf course operating proceduresExposure to industry robotics and its softwareChemical & fertilizer calibration, application, and safetyRecord keeping and basic administrative support (including payroll exposure)Irrigation repair and scheduling using Lynx softwareMechanic shop exposure: equipment repair and preventative maintenanceTime with the Horticulturist supporting clubhouse groundsManagement of small projects and special assignmentsRoutine maintenance: mowing, bunker maintenance, course set-up, etc.QualificationsAbility to read and understand product labels and relevant regulations, familiarity with safe handling and application of chemicals and fertilizersComputer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Valid Driver's LicenseProfessional, well-groomed appearance per club standardsMotivated self-starter with strong attention to detailAble to work outdoors in all weather conditionsFlexible schedule (weekends/holidays as needed; early/late shifts may be required)Physical RequirementsAbility to bend, stoop, and stand up to 8-12 hours daily.Must be able to lift, push, or move up to 50 lbs.Work independently--able to move about departments and club buildings professionallyGood or corrected vision to read labels and perform detailed workComfortable working in a busy, team-oriented environment
