Job Description
Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic reports directly to the maintenance Supervisor, while additionally reporting status and priorities to the production supervisors. This position has the primary responsibilities of troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic may also be involving with the installation of new equipment or overseeing installations by contract personnel. Maintenance employees will be require to perform preventive maintenance procedures or any other tasks required to meet production needs.
Requirements: The Maintenance Mechanic must have manufacturing, maintenance, technical and troubleshooting skills. Skills required Mechanic, Electrical, and welding.
Maintenance Mechanics must have mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience. Electrical tasks will include general troubleshooting and repair of high and low voltage, both single and 3 phase electric sources.
This position requires the ability to assist in improving departmental efficiencies, maintaining adequate operating supplies and problem solving skills in the area of equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
A Maintenance Mechanic:
Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner, and assists other departmental personnel.
Will be required to work overtime as needed.
May be required to work off shifts.
May be “called in” to avoid major production outages.
Will be required to work with outside contractors.
Must have electrical abilities in high and low voltage and in single and 3 phase electric.
Must have welding abilities.
Must be able to work independently and with others.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; technical or vocational school desirable.
Ability to work independently and as a team with strict attention to detail.
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
Extensive processing equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication, language, and interpersonal skills.
Organizational competence, time management skills and ability to meet scheduled deadlines.
