This person will plan and manage project design, construction, commissioning and close-out activities and schedules and provide technical consultation to project teams, government agencies and clients.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Creates and executes project specific work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirementsIdentifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilitiesManages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scopeReviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to clientEffectively applies the company's processes and procedures, and enforces the project contract and standardsPrepares and reviews quality assurance proceduresManages and minimizes AICI-SP's exposure and risk on the projectEnsures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriatelyManages project budget. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the project profit/loss.Facilitates "internal" team (site, head and regional offices), and "external"; (client and other stakeholders) effective communication and meetingsEffectively and timely communicates project information to superiorsResolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashionDevelops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client tiesWorks in coordination with the home office to ensure all required materials and engineering services are delivered on-site in a timely fashionOther duties as directed by the Operations Manager and the PresidentKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:Must be a U.S. Citizen; which is a requirement for the U.S. Secret security clearance and for the US State Department project contract.Must have or be able to quickly obtain a U.S. Secret security clearanceBachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Science / Technology or Construction Management10-15 years of construction/project management experience; minimum of 8 years of professional employment managing large vertical design/build projects overseas.Experience as Project Manager on US State Department (OBO) embassy design and construction projects valued at $100Million or higherPrimary experience working as the General Contractor on large construction buildings with high end finishesExperience in all aspects of design/build contract executionExperience on secured and high-end building design and construction, firm fixed price contractsKnowledge of construction planning, scheduling and construction management, monitoring and control techniquesExperience working as the General Contractor on an overseas classified project from start to completionFull knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)FEBR experience, TSS, and Special Construction ExperienceMust be able to successfully create and manage a multi-cultural project team and create a positive and strong work environment, as well as positively integrate with the local community when needed.Possess strong leadership, communication and negotiation skillsMust be willing to work overseasInternational construction industry experience interacting with various diverse culturesExperience in contract management and construction risk management are requiredPHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:The demands described here are not exhaustive, but are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Mental Demands: The position requires a high degree of concentration in a busy environment. There is a substantial demand for analyzing, perceiving, comprehending, rapid decision making and exercising sound judgment to ensure individual and coworker safety in a potentially dangerous environment. Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines is critical.Environmental Demands: The position entails working on a busy construction site overseas, generally away from the employee's family, and in countries whose laws and social norms may be much more restrictive than in the United States, with the potential for occasional periods of social unrest, military action, interruption of normal services such as electricity and water, natural disasters, and the like. Work involves a 60-hour workweek, 6 days a week/ 10 hours per day. Flexibility with hours/days is required. Individuals must have comfort working in a high-stress environment and be able to perform the above activities in extreme hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions depending on location and season. Exposure to construction equipment and sharp tools, including power tools, and materials. Some exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, potential electric shock, significant heights and high noise level, including high-pitched noises. Some potential exposure to dust, fumes, smoke and airborne particles.
