This is a contingent hire, pending contract award. The incumbent will operate heavy equipment in support of Civil Engineering Equipment (CEE), warehouse logistics, material handling, and transportation operations for Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS) programsRequirementsMinimum QualificationsEducation:High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: Minimum five (5) years of experience as a heavy equipment operatorMust be able to operate vehicles up to 80,000 lbsRequired Skills and Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A endorsementStandard transmission capabilityTrailer endorsementAbility to obtain certification to operate 4-30K forkliftsOther Requirements: Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)Must be a U.S. citizenAbility to pass background investigationMust complete required DoD/BUMED IT security trainingEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation: Operate heavy equipment and vehicles up to 80,000 lbs in support of warehouse operationsOperate 4-30K forklifts for material handling and movementOperate Non-Tactical Vehicles and Equipment (NTVE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)Transport CEE, CESE, containers, shelters, and other material as directedMaterial Handling: Support receiving, shipping, storing (stowing), selecting (picking), and inventory of general or specialized material and equipmentPerform re-warehousing of material in accordance with Government stow plansPerform platform stowing of material by assigned EXMED platformMove containers and shelters using proper MHEVehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct pre-start and post-operation vehicle inspectionsEnsure vehicles are in safe operating conditionReport any damage or maintenance issuesAnnotate starting and ending mileage accumulationsCESE Support: Support preparation of CESE for shipment via air or surfacePerform mobile loading, securing mobile loads, and staging of CESEClean equipment including pressure washing exterior surfacesStage CESE in designated areas as directed by GovernmentContainer/Shelter Operations: Support movement and staging of ISO containers and sheltersEnsure proper MHE is used for container movement operationsEnsure all doors and ramps are closed and secured prior to movementSafety Compliance: Comply with all fire, security, and safety regulations (OSHA, CFR)Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations for vehicle operationReport accidents/mishaps and property damage immediatelyMaintain required training and certificationsRequired Skills and Competencies Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and vehicles in a warehouse environmentAbility to read, interpret, and apply reference materials such as regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, and ordersAbility to read and speak the English language with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and formatProficiency in US standard office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems)Strong ethical principles and customer service skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical Requirements Light to moderate physical effort requiredWalking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving itemsLifting and carrying items over 45 lbsWork is performed on hard surfacesSecurity Clearance:Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
