Work skills and discipline are required to complete specific engineering tasks and will work closely with other Engineering personnel. You will be utilizing multiple engineering skills including design of mechanical structures, motion systems and electrical/pneumatic controls systems for robotic mechanism. The successful candidate must have a sense of accountability to ensure that equipment developed by IPG Systems is responsive to the needs of customers, cost effective, and delivered in a timely manner.Job FunctionsResponsible for Mechanical CAD design and developmentAnalyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine design requirements for manufacturability as defined by existing processes and methodsSpecify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specificationMaintain documentation associated within a project including engineering change notices, bills of materials, detailed CAD models and associated component drawings.Create and maintain part numbers and BOM's in the IPG ERP systemDirectly involved in the transfer of hardware designs to manufacturingRequirementsBS Mechanical Engineering and 3 - 5 years' experienceExperience with 3D design tools such as SolidWorks (highly preferred)Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles to design components and mechanismsExperience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required for interaction within group, with customers, R&D, and international colleaguesAbility to multi-task and balance multiple projects of varying scope and complexityLocation(s)259 Cedar Hill Road, Marlborough, Massachusetts 01752, United StatesEmployment TypeExemptWage InformationMA: $74,956 - $99,316US Benefits InformationPay RangeThe pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified.
