Summary Description: Preps, cuts, and maitains fresh product in retail cases. Helps plan and prepares cutting lists. Cash handling responsibilites, manage sales orders and invoices, along with store closing each evening in compliance with company standards as required. Essential Job Functions: Provides excellent customer service by greeting, assisting and thanking customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business-like manner and training team members to do the same. Manages inventory to ensure selection, freshness and availability of product to drive sales; follow procedures for effective inventory control and controls expenditures and resources. Effectively implements promotional programs. Works with manager to plan and advertise sales and specials. Creates and maintains a safe environment for staff and customers. Ensures store shelves, displays, prep areas and storage areas are in clean, orderly condition meeting health, ODA and FDA standards. Ensures store is well maintained and meets or exceeds company standards for appearance. Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, weights and measures, sanitation and productivity are maintained; ensures current food handlers permits and other required certification is maintained for staff. Monitors cooler, freezer and display area temperatures to ensure product quality; report failures immediately. Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Previous experience in retail, grocery or restaurant industry Excellent customer service and people skills Strong knowledge of all proteins and how to properly utilize them Ability to communicate cooking methods and procedures Ability to follow recipes to company standards Ability to develop "Ready to Cook" products Ability to handle stressful situations Able to prioritize multiple tasks Highly motivated with a sense of urgency and the abillity to work in a fast paced environment at all time with all levels of employees Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Ability and skill to operate equipment used in the meat industry Standing for long periods of time Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
