Junior Agentic Systems EngineerRemote Contract Position OverviewWe are seeking a Junior Agentic Systems Engineer to join an engineering team building and scaling an enterprise agentic platform designed to automate infrastructure and operational workflows.This is an opportunity for an early-career software engineer with strong Python fundamentals and exposure to AI, large language models (LLMs), automation, cloud, or infrastructure technologies to gain hands-on experience building production-grade agentic systems.The ideal candidate does not need to be an AI or machine learning expert. We are looking for someone with a strong software engineering foundation, demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, and an interest in applying AI to real-world infrastructure and operational challenges.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and enhance software components supporting AI-powered agents and automated workflows.Build Python-based applications, services, integrations, and automation.Assist with integrating LLMs and agent frameworks with APIs, tools, and enterprise systems.Contribute to workflows that automate infrastructure and operational processes.Work with technologies across AI, cloud, Linux, APIs, and infrastructure automation.Collaborate with senior engineers on the design, development, testing, and deployment of agentic systems.Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to the reliability of production systems.Participate in an agile engineering team delivering against a prioritized product roadmap.Learn and apply emerging technologies in agentic AI, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation.Required QualificationsStrong programming fundamentals with hands-on Python development experience.Understanding of core software engineering concepts and development practices.Exposure to AI, LLMs, agent frameworks, or automation technologies through professional experience, internships, academic work, or technical projects.Basic understanding of Linux and infrastructure concepts.Exposure to cloud platforms or modern infrastructure technologies.Experience working with APIs or integrating software systems.Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.Interest in agentic systems, cloud/platform engineering, and infrastructure automation.Preferred QualificationsExperience or exposure to one or more of the following is beneficial but not required:LangChain or LangGraphLLM APIs and integrationsAI agents and tool callingRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Vector databasesAWS, Azure, or GCPDocker and KubernetesCI/CD pipelinesInfrastructure or workflow automationPostgreSQL or other relational databasesRedisObservability and monitoring toolsSite Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps conceptsAbout Us:At Brooksource, relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
