POSITION OVERVIEW
· The Estimator creates skilled and competitive bid packages as part of the greater process to generate new business for the company.
· Prepares and assists in preparing proposals for design-build, GMP, conceptual, and competitive hard bid projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Estimates and writes professional proposals using ethical standards and the most current and strategic cost versus profit margin data available internally and industry wide.
· Stays up to date with the latest trends and best practices in estimating.
· Interprets and evaluates construction documents, plans, specifications, engineering reports, and contracts to generate accurate construction costs estimates and proposals.
· Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and all company staff members to encourage teamwork.
· Attends and participates in pre-bid, pre-construction and sales presentations.
· Represents company image with a professional attitude, demeanor, presentation, appearance, and commitment to quality.
· Minimizes risk through the generation of complete and competitive estimates.
· Ability to generate Scope Sheets for each division within a project and ensure accurate, complete coverage.
· Investigates the accuracy of the information the company uses when compiling estimates and bids.
· Performs material quantity take-offs, solicits bids by phone or electronic media, sets up recap sheets.
· Performs miscellaneous departmental support tasks under the direction of the assigned supervisor such as dissemination and tracking of bid documents, and maintenance of databases and filing systems.
· Provides support for the estimating and other departments as directed.
· Handles a varied workload and multiple priorities while working as a team with co-workers to accomplish company goals.
· Participates in post bid analysis and post-project reviews.
· Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
· Computer literate. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge with an advanced aptitude for MS Office Suite, (Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word), and various other estimating and bid solicitation tools.
· Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves self-starter, with flexibility and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
· Not afraid of ambiguity and works to simplify even the most complex task.
· Able to accept direction and constructive feedback with a positive attitude.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills.
· Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
· Unwavering commitment to service and quality.
· Handles all situations with a smile.
· A minimum of 2 years of construction industry experience (in the office or field) with a preference of at least one year of estimating experience.
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management or construction engineering is desirable.
· Capable of lifting 20 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,807.00 - $86,289.00 per year
