Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach
Position OverviewThe Stony Brook School is seeking a Head Coach for the Girls Varsity Basketball program for the2026-2027 season. The Head Coach will lead the program, fostering an environment of skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character formation. This position requires a commitment to the school's mission and values, as well as the ability to partner with faculty, staff, and families to support the holistic growth of our student-athletes.Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of the girls basketball program, including practices, games, andteam activities. Develop and implement training and practice plans that support technical improvement, conditioning, and game preparation. Mentor and guide student-athletes in alignment with the school's values of character, leadership, and faith. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration. Organize team logistics, including scheduling, transportation, and game preparation. Ensure compliance with all league and school policies. Promote a positive team culture that values respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork.Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience required. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to teach and inspire athletes of varying skill levels. Commitment to the mission and values of The Stony Brook School. Excellent organizational and communication skills. CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
