This role is responsible for maintaining proper sterilization and infection control standards while assisting with surgical chart preparation, laser flow, medical records support, and overall surgical center efficiency.The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced ophthalmology surgery center environment.ScheduleWednesday & Thursday: Dedicated surgery daysRemaining weekdays: ASC support including lasers, chart build, sterilization, medical records, and surgical coordinationResponsibilitiesSurgical & Sterile Processing DutiesSterilize and process ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment according to ASC and infection control standardsPrepare and organize surgical trays for upcoming casesMaintain accurate sterilization logs and biological testing documentationAssist with efficient turnover between surgical casesMonitor and restock surgical supplies and sterile inventoryMaintain cleanliness and organization of SPD and surgical areasASC Support DutiesAssist with laser procedure flow and patient preparationSupport surgical chart build to ensure charts are complete prior to surgeryAssist with scanning, medical records management, and document organizationHelp coordinate pre-op and post-op paperwork as neededSupport compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and ASC accreditation standardsProvide general support to the ASC team to maintain smooth daily operationsQualificationsPrevious SPD, surgical tech, ophthalmology, or ASC experience preferredCRCST certification preferred but not requiredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentReliable, professional, and team-orientedBasic computer and EMR experience preferredPreferred TraitsStrong work ethic and accountabilityPositive attitude and willingness to help wherever neededAbility to anticipate workflow needs and stay organizedCommitment to patient safety and operational excellenceBenefitsCompetitive compensationGrowth opportunities within a growing ophthalmology and surgical organizationCollaborative, family-oriented culture focused on exceptional patient care
