They will act as a business partner, leveraging HR data to have a positive impact on the business. Partner with Plant Operations to identify human resources needs that support the location’s business strategy. This role will manage and coordinate human resources activities in compliance with company philosophy, objectives, and legal requirements, and recommend and direct the implementation of programs and policies that create or reinforce a positive employee relations atmosphere.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Health & Safety Collaborate with safety management team to provide and maintain a healthy and safe work environment. Actively participate in and contribute to monthly safety meetings and initiatives. Oversee training of managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks, and support safety programs to drive safety awareness. Employee & Labor Relations Champion employee engagement initiative. Develop strategies to improve engagement amongst employees. Member of Contract Negotiation Team, be able to interpret and apply all contract terms for the employees and management, resolve grievances, contractual language and CBA revisions and ensure compliance to all labor laws and statutes. Talent Acquisition Communicate and work with hiring managers throughout all phases of recruiting including developing new and updating existing job descriptions, determining recruiting strategies, interviewing and selection. Draft offer letters and communicate selection decisions to all candidates. Conduct orientation including completing necessary documents, company overview and introductions, benefit enrollment and company policies. Conduct exit interviews, advising departing staff of eligible benefits and other pertinent information. Leverage technology to improve processes and efficiencies. Talent Management Oversee the talent management program for the site, Liaise with Corporate HR Group to execute on programs including annual reviews, individual performance plans, talent development execution, succession planning, revising and developing new position descriptions, tracking due dates for performance follow up with supervisors and managers. Compliance/Record Management/HRIS Know and understand all local, state and federal labor laws to ensure Perma-Pipe’s compliance with the laws. Communicate new policies to all staff and provide training as needed. Compensation & Benefits Site Administrator for all Perma-Pipe compensation, insurance and benefit programs. Be familiar with union employees benefit program. Advise staff on benefit eligibility. Ensure compliance with union benefit payment and reporting requirements. Business Leadership Develop HR initiatives and programs that support Perma-Pipe’s business strategy. Identify opportunities for employee management improvement and develop and execute strategies / programs for improvement. Other duties as assigned. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/REPORTING: Collaborates closely with the Lebanon Leadership Team, employees and various other support departments located in Rolling Meadows, IL. Reports directly to Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Regional HR Director- Americas.QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS : EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; PHR / SPHR Certification preferred; EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of Human Resources Generalist / Management experience required, demonstrating a sound knowledge of safety, performance management, organizational development, diversity, compensation practices, and federal and state employment laws. Significant experience and resolution of complex Employee Relations issues is a must. Strong computer skills, familiarity with HRIS systems; Paycom preferred. Two or more years of experience in a Union manufacturing facility. QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENT: Strong leadership, including the ability to influence and motivate others. Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to deal effectively with internal and external customers. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. May require lifting up to 15 pounds. Requires manual agility sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers and other office equipment as the position requires. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a typical office setting.
