Skilled Nursing Facility in Oneonta - Human Resources CoordinatorPosition Summary The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting all human resource functions within the company, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll support, compliance, benefits administration, staffing support, and maintenance of employee records. This position works closely with department managers and leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility policies while promoting a positive and professional work environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinate recruitment activities including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and processing applications.Conduct reference checks, background checks, and employment verification.Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding processes.Ensure all required employment documentation is completed and maintained.Maintain current employee files in accordance with regulatory requirements.Employee Relations Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, and workplace concerns.Assist management with employee counseling, disciplinary documentation, and performance evaluations.Maintain confidentiality regarding personnel information and investigations.Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and healthcare regulations.Monitor and track required employee licenses, certifications, annual evaluationsAssist with exclusion list monitoring, criminal background checks, and other required screenings.Prepare documentation for audits, surveys, and inspections.Payroll & Benefits Support Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping review, and attendance tracking.Coordinate employee benefit enrollment and changes.Maintain records related to leave requests, FMLA, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims.Staffing Support Monitor staffing schedules and communicate staffing needs with department managers.Assist in tracking agency staffing usage and overtime.Support initiatives to improve staff retention and reduce turnover.Administrative Functions Maintain accurate HR databases and filing systems.Prepare reports related to staffing, turnover, training, and compliance.Participate in committee meetings and facility initiatives as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned by the AdministratorQualifications Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.Minimum of 1–3 years of human resources experience preferred, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.Knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and healthcare regulations preferred.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR/payroll software systems.Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.Ability to work in an office environment within a healthcare facility.Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and outside agencies.
