The intern will work closely with the Regional Operations Manager and operational teams to identify opportunities where improved data aggregation, analysis, and reporting can provide value to the business.The role will involve assisting with organizing and analyzing datasets, identifying additional data sources, and helping bring those sources together to support better operational insight and decision-making.Location: Hybrid & In OfficeDepartment: Data & Analytics – Supporting Construction Services, Engineering, Field Operations, and SafetyDuration: Internship (Summer / Semester-based, with potential extension)Job DutiesWork with the Regional Operations Manager and operational teams to identify opportunities where improved data aggregation and analysis could support better business insightAssist in gathering and organizing data from multiple internal systems and operational datasetsHelp evaluate and incorporate additional data sources when beneficial to operationsSupport the development of reports, summaries, and dashboards used by operational leadershipPerform data validation and assist with identifying inconsistencies or gaps in dataDocument datasets and data sources used within analytics workflowsAssist with ad-hoc analysis requests from leadership and operational teamsContribute to improving data accessibility across teams working in Google Cloud and Azure environmentsQualificationsWhat We're Seeking:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, GIS, Engineering Technology, or a related technical fieldStrong IT and technical aptitudeFamiliarity with SQL or relational databasesBasic experience with data analysis tools or scripting languages (Python, R, etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work with structured and unstructured datasetsStrong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and operational teamsPreferred QualificationsExposure to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft AzureExperience with SQL-based data environmentsExperience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, etc.)Experience with GIS or spatial datasetsAdditional InformationWhat You Will GainHands-on experience working with enterprise operational dataExposure to utility infrastructure and construction programsPractical experience working with cloud-based data environmentsOpportunity to collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teamsMentorship from experienced professionals in data analytics, GIS, and operationsDivisional OverviewThe Davey Tree Expert Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
