You’ll be the finance lead responsible for helping the organization make smart, high‑impact decisions about which products to invest in, which projects to prioritize, and how to allocate resources across six global R&D sites and twenty product lines.You’ll own the financial planning and analysis for all Front Line Care (FLC) R&D and Sustaining Engineering activities, including the annual operating plan, long‑range plan, forecasting, and portfolio reporting. You’ll also play a key role in evaluating new product launches, shaping investment strategy, and supporting M&A activity — including due diligence and integration work.This is a highly visible role that partners closely with senior leaders across R&D, Marketing, Business Development, and the broader finance organization. You’ll be the person they rely on to translate complex financial data into clear insights, challenge assumptions, and guide decisions that drive profitable growth.The team spans multiple locations and includes finance and accounting partners in St. Paul, Bellevue, and other global sites. For someone who enjoys strategic finance, cross‑functional influence, and working at the intersection of R&D and business strategy, this role offers meaningful ownership and impact.Applicants should be located within commuting distance of either Deerfield, IL or Skaneateles, NY and work on a hybrid schedule from one of those locations.What You’ll Be DoingLead financial decision support for global portfolio strategy, investment prioritization, and profit improvement initiativesCoordinate and consolidate financial planning for all Front Line Care (FLC) R&D and marketing activities, including AOP, LRP, forecasts, and portfolio analyticsRecommend capital allocation decisions across Capex, headcount, R&D spend, and other investmentsBuild and maintain business cases for new product development and evaluate post‑launch performanceServe as the finance lead for FLC M&A activity, including due diligence and integration planningEnsure R&D compliance with GAAP, internal controls, SEC requirements, and Baxter financial policiesSupervise and develop COE FP&A support, providing coaching, direction, and clear expectationsRepresent finance on cross‑functional teams, task forces, and strategic working groups across FLCWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; MBA or CPA preferred10+ years of progressive finance experience with strong analytical and decision‑support capabilities preferredDeep understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and planning processesExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadersStrong business partnership skills and the ability to balance competing priorities across multiple stakeholdersExperience leading or mentoring finance talentAbility to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and drive improvementsComfort working with complex data, financial systems, and portfolio‑level analysisWe understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 -$187,000. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
