Salary: $21.80 HourlyLocation : TX 75702, TXJob Type: Regular Full-timeJob Number: 995210Department: WaterDivision: Waste Water Treatment-746Opening Date: 04/22/2026Purpose Of PositionTo operate and maintain all processes of a wastewater bio-solids facility and a wastewater treatment facility. Ensure that bio solids standards and water quality standards meet State and Federal requirements before disposal or discharge.Essential FunctionsRead, interpret and apply State and Federal regulations required by a State of Texas Wastewater Discharge Permit.Monitor charts, meters, recorders, and equipment and make adjustments accordingly.Collect samples from treatment units and perform chemical analysis and adjust processes accordingly.Perform laboratory analysis on treatment plant effluent and biosolids.Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.Work with electrical equipment and hazardous materials.Maintain processes and structures associated with a biosolids and wastewater treatment facility.Troubleshoot biosolids and wastewater processes and act accordingly.Perform maintenance on pumps, motors, gearboxes and other equipment.Utilize hand and power tools.Keep accurate maintenance records.Maintain plant structures, buildings and grounds.Must be able to read, write and understand English.Must be able to work in extremes of temperature; must be able to lift 100-pounds occasionally, 50-pounds frequently, and 25-pounds constantly.Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience: High School diploma or GED required plus at least one (1) year of job related experience preferred. Must be familiar with hand tools.Must have the ability to obtain a Class "C" Wastewater Certification as issued by TCEQ within one (1.5) year of employment. Must possess a valid Texas Class "C" driver's license with a good driving record. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm, but must be available for rotating on-call duty, which may work after hours, weekends, and holidays.
