Design Engineer

Description: Demco is seeking a Design Engineer for our semi-trailer manufacturing facility. This position will focus on designing clear, complete and accurately working products using CAD. This position reports to the Director of Engineering. Demco provides a competitive compensation & benefits package that takes into account your skills, and expertise. This position will work out of our Spencer, IA facility. Monday - Thursday 7am/4:30pm and Fridays 7am/12pm Primary Duties: Makes drawings, checking material dimensions and relationship to other parts and to the entire structure or project on the drawing Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards Verifies dimensional accuracy of structural layouts and installations Works with manufacturing, vendors and other engineering personnel to ensure documentation meets specifications Must work with sales team and customers on design and applications Constructs drawings from concepts or sketches Review and critique proposed engineering standards, policies, or details Prepares charts for representation of statistical data Provide technical advice to manufacturing, sales and customers to assist in resolving problems. Must be able to effectively present information to clients, customers and employees Work with and support ISO 9000 work instructions and procedures Maintain accurate records and files Requirements: Qualifications/Experience: Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job Knowledge of Solid Works – 2007 or newer Knowledge of electrical circuits and hydraulic system design Must have strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs Excellent communication skills required Must be detail oriented and possess a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement in all areas Must be safety minded and practice shop safety Must be self motivated to work independently Benefits Benefits Day 1: 12 Paid Holidays Birthday Paid Off PTO Accrual Benefits 1st of the Month After 30 Days: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life and Short Term Disability Insurance Allstate Supplemental Insurance Benefits 1st of the Month After 60 Days: 401k Retirement Plan Safety Shoes/Glasses Allowance Interested candidates can apply through Indeed or via our website at: www.demco-products.com.
