This role allows ambitious and successful professionals the ability to achieve high earnings while having significant work/life flexibility.Position Description:  The Mergers & Acquisitions Associate ("Associate") is responsible for assisting with the execution of M&A transactions. The Associate will support all phases of the deal cycle from prospecting to closing, specifically providing financial analysis, research, strategy, and administrative support throughout each stage. Location/Flexible Work Arrangements:  Headquartered in the Orlando, Florida area, Align serves clients nationwide and supports a flexible, primarily remote work environment across multiple states. This role is primarily remote, operating on East Coast hours, with periodic travel to support client and team needs.All Align employees must have reliable transportation and may be expected to travel as part of their roles, with frequency depending on role-specific requirements.  Position Responsibilities: Supporting the evaluation and execution of client engagements, including: · Manage transaction day to day from beginning of engagement through closing · Perform financial analysis of client operations, including but not limited to discounted cash flows, proforma historical and projected financials, calculation and benchmarking of key operational performance indicators. · Develop detailed Confidential Information Memorandum ("CIM") for each transaction. · Support the due diligence process by facilitating administrative aspects of data collection and reconciling transactions by comparing and correcting data. · Conducting qualification analysis on promising opportunities through creation of detailed financial and operating models, ad-hoc analyses, customer reviews and competitive research. · Researching new categories, trends, and technologies for prospective opportunities. Perform market research, analyzing trends and identifying opportunities. · Synthesizing research into succinct investment highlights, risks and areas for diligence. · Screening new opportunities through industry research, financial and operational data analysis, conversations with investors and entrepreneurs, etc. · Preparing internal summary materials to evaluate new opportunities in systemic fashion. · Tracking sourcing and pipeline activities of new investment opportunities across the firm, including building personal relationships with entrepreneurs and other industry participants. Support the firm's directors and leadership by: · Maintaining the firm's CRM database by entering, verifying, correcting, and backing up data. · Recommending actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials. · Increase productivity by developing automated processes and updating company processes and procedures. · Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential. · Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications. · Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. · Work with M&A Sales Operations Manager to ensure clear requests are made to any 3rd party vendors who produce work product for Align and provide relevant feedback to ensure quality of this work product · Uphold a strict level of confidentiality. · Develop and sustain a level of professionalism among staff and clientele. · Other duties as assigned Position Requirements:  Required: Bachelor’s Degree  2 years of relevant experience (investment banking, corporate development, private equity or related field) Meaningful prior deal experience, including financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and structuring returns analysis Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills Preferred: Master’s Degree Familiarity with buyside or sellside M&A advisory. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Familiarity with M&A deal structures, transaction documentation and due diligence processes  Understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques and key operational performance Apply ethical principles consistently including decision-making, deal execution, and client interactions. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all interactions, fostering trust with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial and results-driven environment  Compensation and Benefits:This is a full-time, exempt position with a base salary of $80,000 to $100,000, plus bonus compensation tied to a fixed percentage of total deal success fees.Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k plan, unlimited paid time off, and 13 company holidays, including your birthday.
