The primary duty of the Traffic Control Supervisor is to coordinate and inspect traffic control set-ups for conformance with approved traffic control plans, MUTCD guidelines and local entity requirements. Complete all required internal paperwork.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety rules and regulations of the Company and particularly the Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsSupervise/assist TCT/laborer/driver in traffic control responsibilitiesCoordinate TCT assignment with dispatchMake deliveries, pick-ups and job checks in a safe, efficient, and timely mannerMaintain accurate and timely Pre-Trip and Post Trip Inspection PaperworkEfficiently communicate with all levels of people - employees, customers, accident information, maintenance service schedules, etc.Conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a professional and respectful atmosphere, and ensure that the service encounter with the customer is an exceptional experiencePerform a needs assessment when speaking with customers to translate their requests into our related productsMaintain delivery/pickup ticketsLearn/Responsible for safe lifting, loading, unloading of equipment to and from trucksKeep company vehicles clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problemsFlexibility to work various schedules and stay late, when necessary, with little or no notice. Able to work mid and night shiftsArrive to work site on time wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g., hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and earplugs as required, and when applicable, a respiratorAdhere to all Company Policies and ProceduresAll other duties as assignedQualificationsMust maintain CCA or ATSSA TCS Certification or be eligible to procure certificationAbility to read maps and knowledge of local streetsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with team members inside and out of the organizationStrong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlinesA passion for working in a high growth business as the pace and expectations of the cultureA passion for success, a positive and friendly attitude and a consistent work ethic are all a mustA strong knowledge of the traffic control/construction industry is a major plus.Willing to travel as neededWork Settings/Description of Environmental Hazards EncounteredHighways, city, and county roads. Working around moving vehicles on roadways and around moving heavy equipment at road construction site.TravelDaily travel to and from worksite, some overnight travel may be necessary.Working Environment/Physical RequirementsWork is performed outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions / varying temperature, e.g., exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, dry and / or windy conditions.Minimum lifting requirements is 35lbs.Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead) up to 35lbs., standing, walking, climbing, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and feeling, climb and balance, crouching and crawling.Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordinationAble to stand for extended periods of time, 8 to 10 hrs. per day up to 6 days per weekRequirementsValid Driver's License and clean MVR **Must maintain a valid driver's license during entire employment**Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screensSatisfactory results of pre-employment background checkPass medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical cardMust hold current TCS certification or be eligible to procure certificationColorado Barricade Co. is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
