Mechanical Engineer

We’re partnered with a well-funded robotics company (hundreds of millions raised) building general-purpose robots designed to operate in real-world environments. The team is based in SF and is composed of strong backgrounds coming from Cruise, OpenAI, and Tesla. This is a rare opportunity to work on 0 to 1 hardware in a team that is moving quickly toward real deployment at scale - not just research or prototypes. They’re looking for a mechanical engineer who wants real ownership and is motivated by building systems that actually leave the lab and work in the wild. What you’ll be doingOwning mechanical design across the full lifecycle, from early concept through to productionBuilding and iterating on prototypes quickly, learning from real-world testing and failureDesigning mechanisms and actuator-driven systems that directly impact robot performanceWorking closely with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing to bring fully integrated systems to lifeSupporting the transition from prototype to high-volume, production-ready hardwareWhat they’re looking forStrong mechanical intuition and a practical understanding of how systems behave outside of CADExperience taking hardware from concept through production and seeing it deployedExposure to manufacturing processes such as molding, casting, or sheet metalExperience designing mechanisms, moving assemblies, or actuator systemsComfortable working across disciplines on complex electro-mechanical productsYou’ll be joining a team that sets a high technical bar, moves fast, and is focused on building something that actually matters. If you’re someone who wants to own real systems, move quickly, and see your work deployed in the real world, this is worth a conversation.
