Computational Thermal Hydraulics Analyst

Our client is seeking to contract with a highly motivated Thermal Hydraulics Analyst to support methodology development, analysis, and design efforts of reactor core for the sodium-cooled Natrium Reactor program. Reporting to the Manager, Core Thermal Hydraulics Methods & Analysis, you will mature methodologies, support the test program, and perform analyses to evaluate the behaviour for these advanced energy systems under various conditions.Tasks:Computational analysis of in-core steady-state thermal hydraulic phenomena.Perform code benchmarking and validation analyses to support code qualification and methodology development.Perform calculations using first principles of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics to support and validate analysis results.Integrate with other engineering groups performing aspects of component, system, fuel, and control system analysis and related thermal-hydraulic testing.Support development of testing programs needed for reactor core & components.Key Qualifications and Skills:B.S, M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Nuclear, or other relevant technical Engineering area from an accredited universityMinimum of 10 years of experience in thermal hydraulic analysis with a B.S. degree, or 6+ years with an M.S. or 3+ years with a Ph.D. degree with a demonstrated ability to produce a high-quality work product6+ years' experience in Nuclear Systems Thermal-Hydraulic behaviour and analyses, experience in 1D modelling approach highly preferredDemonstrated expertise with one or more CAD modelling tools; SolidWorks preferredDemonstrated expertise with a modern CFD tool; STAR-CCM+Knowledge and experience in analysis of nuclear reactor core subchannel analysisDemonstrated ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary team of engineersExperience with low Prandtl number heat transfer analysis a strong plusExperience with Software Quality Assurance Program a strong plusCreative thinker with demonstrated strong analytical/problem solving skillsAbility to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work weekExcellent writing and communication skillsThe successful candidate will possess a high degree of trustworthiness and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork
