Vice President of AV Operations (Rochester)
Job Summary:This position will oversee the direction and performance of our AV technician and service teams, professional services, and engineering functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, implement efficient processes, and ensure a seamless delivery of AV solutions to clients.Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities:Team Leadership and OversightProvide strategic direction and oversight for AV technicians, service teams, and professional services staff.Develop clear performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations to ensure accountability and excellence.Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment through coaching, mentorship, and professional development.Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.Monitor project financial performance, including margins, labor utilization, and cost overruns.Operations ManagementOwn, develop and refine AV operational processes, standards, and procedures, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with company goals.Collaborate with stakeholders to improve workflows, minimize bottlenecks, and enhance client satisfaction.Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track departmental success and drive continuous improvement.Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.Collaborate with executive leadership and project management to align AV operations with overall business objectives.Professional Services and Installation OversightManage programming, commissioning, and design teams to ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.Standardize design, commissioning, and programming practices to align with industry best practices and company standards.Ensure seamless integration of professional services with field operations and project teams.Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovations that enhance operational capabilities.Oversee field installation teams to ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.Develop installation workflows, training programs, and quality assurance processes.Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards.Support complex or high-profile installations as needed.Warehouse and Inventory ManagementOversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient organization, inventory tracking, and readiness of AV equipment.Implement inventory control systems to reduce waste, improve accuracy.Client and Stakeholder EngagementServe as a point of escalation for operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.Collaborate with sales, project management, and leadership teams to align operations with business objectives.Prepare and present operational reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.Minimum Qualifications and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in AV operations management.7+ years of experience in AV operations, with a strong background in leading teams and optimizing processes.Expertise in AV systems, programming, commissioning, and design workflows.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.Analytical mindset with a track record of implementing process improvements.Proficiency in project management software, AV-specific tools, CAD, and inventory management systems is a plus.CTS, CTS-D or CTS-I preferred.Physical Requirements:· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.· Light travel is required
