EAs work directly with classroom teachers and students, as needed. EAs also provide support to classroom teachers by completing various clerical tasks related to classroom instruction and function.Essential responsibilities:Support student learning in any way deemed appropriate by the classroom teacherParticipate in staff and professional development as determined by the Director, Principal, or other leadership staffAssist with clerical teacher dutiesBe flexible with assigned duties - cover classes when neededWork with small groups at teacher discretionOther duties as assigned by the Director or PrincipalComply with all school policies and proceduresPhysical RequirementsWork is performed predominantly in an indoor environment and requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor, and lifting up to 15 pounds. Some outdoor supervisory tasks may also be required.Requirements:Level III Educational Assistant license from the New Mexico Public Education Department.
