Territory Sales ManagerManages territory sales functions, administering company policies, procedures, sales hiring and corrective actions. Drives revenue growth by setting individual sales plans, target accounts and ensures salespeople have the tools needed to accomplish their job. Cultivates strong relationships with key customers in the industrial markets. Strategically confers with branches and regional management to identify, plan, and develop sales methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency in sales operations.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and implements a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share growth within the assigned territory.Analyzes market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify business opportunities.Sets and monitors sales targets, budgets, and performance metrics.Continuously evaluates and refines the sales approach to align with market dynamics.Recruits, trains, and manages a team of 6-10 outside sales professionals to ensure they meet or exceed sales revenue and gross margin targets.Provides leadership, motivation, and mentorship to the sales team to foster a high-performance culture.Provides ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.Builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers, understands their needs and provides solutions that align with our product and service offerings.Collaborates with the sales team to address customer concerns and provide exceptional customer service.Identifies and pursues opportunities for market expansion within the territory.Works closely with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional activities.Develops and manages sales forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.Provides regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to the Regional Manager and Executive Team members.Develops and manages the sales budget for the territory.Monitors and controls expenses to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field.Proven experience as a successful sales manager in the industrial distribution sector.Strong understanding of industrial products and services, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.Excellent leadership and team-building skills.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.Able to travel within the assigned territory as needed.Certified Fluid Power Specialist preferred.Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.Founded in 1923, Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT) is a leading value-added distributor and technical solutions provider of industrial motion, fluid power, flow control, automation technologies, and related maintenance supplies.
