Position: Computational CAD Engineer (OpenSCAD)Type: Hourly contractCompensation: $40 - $120/hourLocation: RemoteCommitment: 10 40 hours/weekRole ResponsibilitiesDevelop, document, and optimize OpenSCAD scripts for parametric CAD models.Convert conceptual designs into detailed 2D and 3D programmatic models.Apply Boolean operations, transformations, and advanced modeling techniques.Utilize features such as list comprehensions, flow control, and type test functions.Construct complex geometries using extrusion and composition methods.Create reusable and modular components using loops and structured logic.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explain design logic and modeling decisions. RequirementsStrong experience with OpenSCAD and parametric CAD scripting.Proficiency in OpenSCAD syntax, constants, operators, and special variables.Expertise in 2D and 3D object creation, transformations, and Boolean operations.Experience with lists, list comprehensions, flow control, and type testing functions.Ability to translate concepts into accurate and optimized CAD models.Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical explanations.Ability to work independently and iterate on designs with attention to detail.
