Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance MechanicJob Summary:An Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment/systems. They play an essential role in preventing equipment failures, minimizing downtime, maintaining facilities, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. They are also a primary resource in the installation of new equipment and running electrical, pneumatic, water and gas services.Key Responsibilities:Equipment Inspection and Diagnosis:Inspect electrical and mechanical systems regularly to identify issues or potential problems.Use diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.Analyze equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints to understand system operations.Repair and Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.Repair or replace faulty electrical and mechanical components such as motors, pumps, valves, and wiring.Calibrate and align equipment to ensure optimal performance.Conduct preventive maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety.Electrical Work:Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, switches, and circuit breakers.Troubleshoot electrical faults and rectify them efficiently.Perform 460V 3 phase AC/ 110V single phase service electrical installation, upgrades and modifications as needed.Mechanical Work:Maintain and repair mechanical systems, including drive belts, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems.Align and balance rotating equipment such as motors and fans.Welding and fabrication of metal components.Maintains and installs compressed air, water and gas piping as needed.Facilities Maintenance:Maintains facility to ensure all system are functioning and makes repairs as needed. This includes all electrical and mechanical systems [plumbing, sewer, lighting, computer network, compressed air]Safety Compliance:Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and standards.Report any safety hazards or concerns to management.Participate in safety training and maintain a safe working environment.Documentation:Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.Keep an inventory of spare parts and order replacements as necessary.Collaboration:Coordinate with other team members and departments to schedule maintenance tasks.Provide guidance and support to junior technicians if applicable.Qualifications and Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in electrical or mechanical maintenance preferred.Proven experience as an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic.Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniques.Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team.Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.Company DescriptionFor over 60 years Stylex has produced furniture for the modern workplace with careful consideration given to balancing aesthetics, performance, value, and service.
